KD5NJR's new harmonic

My little boy was born yesterday (6/8/09) at 4:35 pm after a long time.
He weighs 9 lbs and 8.8 oz. And he is about a 1/4-wavelength for 2m.
More to follow on my little harmonic later. Mom is doing fine.

Congratulations on the new harmonic!
Very glad to hear Mom is doing well 'cause that tells me you are doing well also!! Best wishes to you and your family, Scott.

Hi Scott (and wife),

Congratulations on the birth and rebirth: The birth of your precious and miraculous child... and the rebirth of yourselves. The rebirth of yourselves is also precious and miraculous.

My only advise is: Continue to explore what options are available in the rearing of your child(ren). If one thing doesn't work, try another, if that doesn't work, have another...you can't (realistically) have too many options.

And, in the words of John Wilmot, Earl of Rochester, "Before I got married I had six theories about bringing up children; now I have six children and no theories."

Viva la kiddos!

Congratulations on your harmonic...but there's sad news. You'll never, repeat, never be able to keep that little harmonic below 5db. You'll really have to work to keep it there...and you'll spend a lot of your money keeping parasitic oscillations at bay. Those parasitic oscillations won't usually set in until around 13 years old, and, new electrolytics won't solve that problem. Cheers for you and your xyl!!
